Work as an Educator
Curiosity about life has always fueled my creativity and learnings. However, school was not a strong suit of mine early on.
Growing up as an artist in a lower-middle class Detroit suburb, I was at odds with what I saw was a broken system. For my entire youth, I felt like the education system had failed me.
It was only when I had the opportunity to attend a world-class university and discovered a passion for entrepreneurship that I truly began to take my formal education into my own hands. Over time, that decision has helped me to gain incredible insights and priceless experiences.
As an adult, I seek to empower new generations of students by helping to develop and implement cutting-edge education techniques on local, regional, national levels through media and philosophy.
METHODS
Peer to Peer Education
Discourse is one of the most powerful ways to spread ideas among a community.
Open-source peer based learning and teaching among members of these communities is how a society can truly evolve and prosper.
I seek to positively change the world around me by building networks of individuals also willing to share their knowledge with the world around them.
Higher Education
It is no secret that American society is losing its faith in higher education.
Outdated curriculum models and rising tuition force students paying their own way to go into debt for degrees that are not only less valuable than ever before, but more expensive.
In developing new curriculum courses in brand architecture, event planning and leadership at the university level, I aim to help bring value back to highereducation by engineering academic programs that are in demand and relevant to the marketplace.
Secondary Education
Growing up in a disadvantaged area, I understand the value of continuing education. It doesn’t end at graduation.
Unfortunately, high school students are becoming increasingly disenchanted with advanced schooling.
It is mission of mine to bridge the gap between the graduating high school student and their professional adult careers.
I do this by creating working opportunities between high school students, college students, and working professionals to encourage holistic peer based mentorship culture.
Education in the Arts
With a college degree in film production and a musicianship of 18 years, it’s no secret to anyone that knows me that I love the arts.
Through years of creation and refinement, I have become well versed in my crafts. I leverage that knowledge to teach students how to create from philosophical and technical perspectives.
I do this through in-person lessons, online webinars and workshops with peers eager to learn new skills and perspectives of art and creativity.
